AN INNOVATIVE CLINICAL DATA INVESTIGATION TOOL FOR MSLS

CLIENT: MAJOR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY

THE SITUATION

The client had a large number of MSLs working in a crowded and fast-moving therapy area. They found it challenging to keep up to date with the publication of new data and to identify key differences between the trials of different treatment options.

THE NEED

The client wanted support in creating a tool that would help the MSLs to navigate the extensive and complex clinical data landscape

The tool needed to be mobile compatible and quick and easy to update, with the aim of helping MSLs to identify key similarities and differences between trial designs and outcomes

OUR APPROACH

We created a SCORM-compliant tool so that it could be hosted on the existing learning management system

This approach also meant that when updates were made, it would update for all users – it was not possible for users to access an outdated version

Particular time and effort went towards designing the overall structure of the tool so that it could cover all required information, whilst still being straightforward to add new trials or medications

It was developed using a common authoring tool to simplify updates, but via a storyboard so that content could be reviewed and finalised before updating the tool itself

The layout of the tool was designed primarily with mobile compatibility in mind, but in such a way that the tool would still function well on larger devices

THE OUTCOME

The tool was rolled out first in the US and received very positive feedback from users, to the extent that the idea was passed across to other product teams

Subsequently, two further versions of the tool were developed and rolled out globally for other therapy areas

All three tools continue to be updated following the publication of any new, relevant data
